Rejuvenation

I live on Vashon Island and I draw a lot of energy from Mount Rainier, which is always in view. I often turn to it during the day to bow to it and thank it quietly. I look to the mountain for creativity. I lean into it to remember my circle, to be stilled and stabilized in my questions, for reminders of wholeness.

There’s a hostility to growth on a mountain like Rainier; flowers seem unimaginable at its peak. But Blossoms from the Mountain is an expression of how growth doesn’t require perfect conditions. Anything is generative if we decide that’s our growth-place, if we put our energy into that cultivation. The flowers symbolize the surprisingly generative qualities of nature. The raven symbolizes the lightness, and freedom, and flight that accompany that remembering.
